691 total evacuations this week
38,926 evacuations to date
Andriy and his heroic drivers personally put on the helmets and armor to deliver 1.5 tons of aid to Siversk – a city just miles away from the hottest battle zone of the last few weeks. Coming back from these trips Andriy evacuated 16 people. See the video below that reflects this heroic mission.
Ukraine Team Milestones
Inna Kampen’s foundation Krok z Nadiyeyu distributed a staggering 33 tons of aid to 8,939 people. Our support enables transporting two trucks of aid to Inna’s distribution center and transportation expenses to move this aid among close to 30 distribution points spanning all of Eastern Ukraine.
Dina’s charity Vilny Liudy Vilna Krayina continues their life-saving work spanning multiple regions in Ukraine. Last week her team distributed help to 1,513 families which is equivalent to roughly 50,000 meals, although the packages also include hygienic products, toys and other things that differentiate the help provided by volunteers from bulk aid deliveries.
Early in the week Pavel received intelligence that 1,500 people managed to escape the occupied territories in the South and were on their way to Zaporizhzhya. Pavel immediately redirected his fleet to help in evacuations there. Last week Pavel’s team moved 675 people, and total evacuations for July stood at 1,539 — 559 of them were children.
At the same time, Pavel continued massive shipments of humanitarian aid. On Saturday alone Pavel’s team shipped 2,600 packages to the Mykolaiv region as well as two generators that enabled functioning of local water towers, finally providing drinking water to thousands of people in that rural community. Overall, Pavel’s team distributed aid to 26,290 people in July.
Ukraine TrustChain sponsored the purchase of phones for the drivers on Pavel’s team. Phones are crucial not only for communication and navigation, but are the only way our donors can see the work that Pavel’s team is doing in the most dangerous parts of Ukraine.
Volontery SDK and Pavlo Vystratenko that we support through Oleksandr Davydiuk made a daring trip to Bakhmut bringing in 1 ton of aid. The areas where the aid was distributed were under continuous shelling, not leaving any time to take pictures. Two people agreed to evacuate with the volunteers.
Other groups we support continued their amazing work in various part of Ukraine. Mobile clinic “Angeliya” provided health services to 141 people. A team in Lutsk provided aid to young people suffering from CP. Many of them have lost caregivers and are completely alone, some of them are immobile.
Vladislav continues water delivery to Mykolaiv. In order to deliver enough water, volunteers removed the back seats from the van to make space for the barrels. They delivered 25 tons of water to Mykolaiv this week. There have been requests for other points of water delivery, but the lack of water containers and transportation makes this impossible right now.
While we provide aid to Kherson region, the situation there has deteriorated significantly as the occupants shut down the last bank branch that allowed people to receive money from Ukraine. The future of the brave volunteers who have helped the elderly and people in need in Kherson is uncertain.
Kseniia traveled to Stuttgart to raise additional funds for the reconstruction of Ukrainian schools around in Kyiv region. There she delivered a speech and joined the Ukraine support group that opened the Stuttgart Pride Parade in front of 200,000 spectators.
Meanwhile, thanks to our support Kseniia’s team was able to start reconstruction in Zahaltsy village. We will post updates as that work continues.
Our teams in Odesa made a trip to Zatoka - the site of the latest terrorist attack by Russia on July 26. Alena distributed aid to families with children. The trip was difficult not only psychologically, but also tricky logistically due to Ukrainian forces being on high alert south of Odesa.
Both Kryviy Rih and Odesa are connected to Ukraine TrustChain through our first team leader, Natasha Mitsuta. Natasha just came back to Kyiv and is reorganizing her reporting and workflows while continuing to push aid to Brovary and sending food into the frontline zones.
120 people live in Karina’s shelter, and continues supporting evacuations from the East and South. In the South, Karina is directing help to the bombarded city of Nikopol. The city sits across the Dnipro River from the Zaporizka Nuclear Power Plant that is controlled by Russia, which uses it as a shield for its artillery.
Andriy finished reorganizing the warehouse and launched the operation that should be able to support up to 4,500 families weekly.
